Avalon Beach historically has been known as a little hub of live local music. We have an artistic community with so many talented musicians amongst us, and though it’s been a tough two years for live music, venues, bars and restaurants, normal life is returning. This Easter long weekend and the April holidays will be a great opportunity to get out, enjoy some music, food, wine all while supporting our local businesses.
Here’s what’s coming up in live music in April.
Bookoccino – Friday evenings from 6.00pm-8.00pm Bookoccino hosts live music, serving wine and cheese from the bar. On Sunday mornings 10.00am-12.00pm they also host live music, grab a coffee and enjoy. Sit and enjoy the music spilling out into Avalon Beach village from Bookoccino.
Leonardo’s Deli – Simmonds Lane is blocked off to cars on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday nights from 6.30pm-10.00pm, to make way for people and pets to enjoy the live music, wine and deli food. It’s a great community vibe and the local acts playing are a real joy. Be sure to head down and check it out this Easter.
Avalon Bowlo – The Bowlo consistently hosts local acts. On Wednesdays from 7.00pm-9:30pm, it’s jazz, Sunday’s 4.00pm-7.30pm is Sunday Sundown Sessions with live bands. Saturday, April 23rd 7.30pm-9.30pm is a special music event “Avapalooza” which will be a rockin’ trip through the influential sounds of the seventies. Be sure to bring your flares and your dancing shoes!
The Newport – Across the Easter weekend from Friday 15th through to Monday 18th April, there are live acts from 12.00pm and DJs into the evening. The following weekend from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th April, live acts start from 4.00pm onwards and DJs continue into the evening as well.
The Parkhouse – Live music acts featuring the Northern Beaches’ best local talents to help you ease into the long weekend. Every Friday night live bands start from 9.00pm in the ‘Front Yard’ and then DJs until late.
La Vida Loca – This Newport bar and grill has live bands on Friday and Saturday nights from 7.30pm, and jazz on Sundays from 6.30pm-9.30pm.
