About Narraweena
Narraweena is known as the thriving Italian hub of the northern beaches suburb. With three pizza shops, a continental deli and plenty of coffee shops it is easy to see why.
The suburb is about 18 kilometres north of the CBD, 2.5 kilometres north of Warringah Mall and about three kilometres from Dee Why beach. Dee Why’s shops, including supermarkets, are even closer. By bus, it takes about 40 minutes to reach the central business district. It’s a five-minute drive to the new Northern Beaches Hospital in Frenchs Forest.
The hilly terrain provides many homes on the eastern side with impressive views over Dee Why to Longreef. Of Narraweena’s 2350 dwellings, about two-thirds are free-standing houses. The rest are split between attached properties and apartments. A generational shift is also underway, with young families snapping up homes on generous blocks for less than they would pay in better-known neighbouring suburbs. A wave of renovations and rebuilds has coincided with the influx of younger owners.
